Desc: Cold Sun: Directed by Hidetaka Ito. This is an ensemble film about four families, inspired by true incidents in Japan. The story is set in Japan's snowy countryside. Mao is a high school student, dreaming of leaving the country for the city. But her mother wants to keep her tied to town. Keisuke is a 32-year-old running a café. But business has been slow, and he is under stress from having to borrow money from his wife's parents and living on a shoestring. The 25-year-old Kurosawa provides for his older wife and only daughter. He has a good life at work and home. His happiness and ambition are kept in balance. High school teacher Takahashi can't propose to his girlfriend. He has two aging parents and another elderly who is bedridden. A marriage would mean that she would have to take care of the three elderly. Then, a woman named Masumi Yokochi creeps up on them. Yokochi is a demon that lures families with money and a kind face, but later devours them. Four years later. Each family had changed drastically. Slowly the people overlap, and the money ebb away. "No money or dying. Which is more terrifying?"
